Product Description

Set of 4 - Framed - Dancing Mudra Hands

Mudras are symbolic hand gestures used in Indian classical dance forms, particularly in Bharatanatyam. The word "mudra" comes from Sanskrit, meaning "seal" or "gesture." These gestures are not mere ornamentation but an essential aspect of Bharatanatyam that contributes to its storytelling power.

Mudras therefore are hand gestures that carry symbolic meanings, used to represent ideas, objects, emotions, or actions in dance.

There are 28 single-hand gestures of which we have selected 4

These frames will add great indian aesthetic to any corner of your home, including your sit outs or spaces with lots of greens.

Pair them together or individually or in a cluster for a fun wall art.

Makes for great gifts for classical dancers

    Traditional Terracotta Firing Process

Note: Traditional terracotta is not as strong or durable as modern ceramic because it is fired at a much lower temperature. Please place this product so that it is safe from damage.

Traditional kilns are essentially shallow pits filled with charcoal. For firing, products are placed very closely together in the pit and covered with a layer of broken pottery fragments for insulation. The process of firing usually lasts around three hours.
