Paint your own Gangaurs! Since we keep getting requests for new color variations in our ever popular Gangaurs - we thought, we let you try your hand with customisation 

We have only painted the faces and primered the dress for you to try painting them in your own unique style. It also makes an incredible and thoughtful gift for kids who love to paint

Reccomenations - 

Please use acrylic paints ! Usually with acrylic paints one deosnt need a protective coat for a decor puposes. But you may apply any lacquer or protective spray if you wish to give it that extra layer of protection  

Gangaur is a festival of people of Rajasthan and is observed throughout the state with great fervor and devotion by womenfolk who worship Gauri, the wife of Lord Shiva. It is the celebration of spring, harvest, and childbearing. Gana is synonym for Lord Shiva and Gaur which stands for Gauri or Parvati who symbolizes Saubhagya (marital bliss). The unmarried women worship her for being blessed with a good husband, while married women do so for the welfare, health, and long life of their husbands and for a happy married life.

In some Rajput families, permanent wooden images are painted afresh every year by reputed painters called matherans on the eve of festival.

This craft is losing its ground to cheaper imitations and very bad quality of workmanship. We work with the last two craftsmen who are over 65 years of age making these small dolls for us. Due to high demand from these artists for the quality of work,  production is limited.
