 18" - Chettinad Hand-Carved Sotthu Palahai - Rice Spoon

The Chettinad hand-carved Sotthu Palahai (or Soru Palahai) is a traditional, often teakwood, board historically used by brides from the Chettiar community in Tamil Nadu to drain water from cooked rice. It is also known as a Soru Palahai (meaning rice board) and is considered a piece of bridal seeru (bridal wealth/gift). .

The shape makes for a interesting wedding accent - and can be used as decor in your kitchen or dining space
