Product Description
8-inch hand-made terracotta tiles are an adaptation from the famous temples of Bishnupur, West Bengal.
The temples were primarily constructed using terracotta. Known for their elaborate terracotta panels that depict scenes from Hindu epics like the Mahabharata and Ramayana, the temples are a testament to the artistic and cultural achievements of the Malla dynasty.
How to use
These Tiles may be framed individually to hang on the wall
or
Installed directly on the wall. To install terracotta tiles on a wall, prep a clean, flat surface and draw level layout lines. Apply a polymer-modified, cement-based adhesive suitable for porous clay using a notched trowel, and back-butter each tile. Press tiles firmly with spacers, seal them completely before grouting, apply grout, and seal again
Frame them together to use as a decor piece or use them individually. You can even paint them in a colour that matches your decor.

Traditional Terracotta Firing Process
Traditional kilns are essentially shallow pits filled with charcoal. For firing, products are placed very closely together in the pit and covered with a layer of broken pottery fragments for insulation. The process of firing usually lasts around three hours.
